Make 2025 your year with Kalden Berg's new single "2-5"

I have a question for you: what day is it today? Say it again, I can't hear you guys in the back! Yes, it's February the 5th, 2025! (If you're reading this post on another date you're missing something lol!) So, can you spot an interesting hint in the title of Kalden Berg's new song "2-5"? Yes, it refers to the release date - both month/day and year - and the coincidences don't end there because Kalden wrote this song the day after his 25th birthday! This is so much fun and I love this kind of easter eggs. But who is Kalden Berg and how all these coincidences are linked to his new single? I'm answering to your questions right away!

Kalden Berg is a Singer-Songwriter and Multi-Instrumentalist who comes from the green land and sunny sky of Southern Africa. Kalden writes music that is exciting and emotional with inspiration flooding in from all sides of the world, new and old. Some of Kalden's early inspirations stem from his parents' listening habits that introduced him to Queen and the Classic Rock kings, but also taught him Lionel Richie and the soul that came through RnB and Disco. I find this very interesting and it makes me reflect about how our parents can really shape our taste in music. I personally can say that if it wasn't for my mum and her love for music, I wouldn't be here writing this music blog! 

But let's go back to Kalden, who now enjoys exploring Rock sounds along with Folk and Funk song-writing that blend to form an exciting Pop-Rock experience straight out of Africa. He hopes to be the new face of Contemporary South African Music and 2025 is the year he plans to break through! So here we have the core meaning of Kalden's new single "2-5": while singing a self-motivational anthem for his new journey, he aims to empower listeners to make 2025 their year as well!

Kalden shares: "This song was written 6 months after I left my full-time job as a Tribute Performer and took my first leap into being a full time Original Artist. I finally had the chance to release the music that my community had been so desperately asking for. Writing it was a chance for me to put into words the energy and motivation that I needed to push forward and achieve my goals. "2-5" expresses over and over that the time is NOW and that it is YOU who is in control. That no matter what the proverbial "they" say, we each have the power to decide our own futures!".

 
The song begins with a very energetic intro and Queen-like powerful vocals that will instantly catch your attention. The acoustic instrumentals gives the song a classic feel while Kalden's vocal range is impressive and definitely shows where his roots are. The upbeat percussion will make you bounce your head and tap your feet on the ground, with a very addictive rhythm and melody. If his goal was to make feel listeners empowered, he absolutely succeeded! I suddenly feel motivated and my mood has significantly improved since I listened to this song!

With the focus on growing his local impact through Radio-play, South African Playlisting and local interviews as well as continuing to engage and branch out in his current international audience, Kalden hopes to "Grow! Grow! Grow!" in 2025. He has a very supportive community on Twitch that he nurtures regurarly engaging in a very refreshing way.
