News: Melissa Hale releases the EP "Ready To Be Found"

Image
A little fiery but chill, Melissa Nicole Hale is a red headed Italian-Canadian finding her ground in America by way of the scruffy city of Knoxville, TN. Growing up in the outskirts of Toronto, Canada and spending the summers working on her family farm, Melissa discovered music during after school programs when her parents worked late in the fields and at the market when school season started. First came dance classes, then piano lessons and guitar and voice lessons followed. She found herself growing in her personal art form but also wanted to grow in her knowledge of the music industry through artist management college in 2012. Her mind got the best of her and things got rough so she found herself running from music and a passion that had been growing in her for so long. After years of healing, finding her worth, surrounding herself with people who uplifted her and finding that nothing else struck as deep, she came full circle back into the world of music that she couldn’t run too

News: Alpha Circle releases "1995"

Image
In the summer of 2017 four musicians, two Spaniards and two Englishmen, united through the international language of music and formed a band, Alpha Circle . They had three objectives: one to make music that consisted of a thumping blend of slick rhythms and epic hooks. Two, to bring a pop rock live action energy to their groove and three, to write lyrics that told stories of hope and overcoming life’s challenges. About the name of the band, they say: "It came about from a few things: firstly because we thought it was cool and secondly because we were attracted to the concept of an inclusive circle of ideas, styles, collaborators, and creative freedom in general". Their debut single " Circles " is the personification of this message. An Indie pop, motivational style about maturity and finding your place in this world that reached incredible numbers on Spotify right from the start. After that, the band continued to release heartfelt and catchy singles: &q

News: Binary Drift releases "Velvet Hearts"

Madrid Singer/songwriter Mauricio Yrivarren A.K.A. Binary Drift releases the Britpop single "Velvet Hearts" in all streaming platforms on February 11th. Following 2019’s album "Pocket Tunes" , this single follows up 2021’s "Summer Breeze" and it is the second of the releases that will make up Binary Drift's second album Mortido.  Mauricio first picked up a guitar in his teens and felt an immediate connection to the instrument, as it became a medium to convey emotions. Having played in number of bands in his native Peru and the US where he lived for many years, his life journey brought him to Madrid a decade ago. A magical city indeed and birthplace of Binary Drift, his latest musical project. According to Mauricio, “ Velvet Hearts is undoubtedly a Britpop song. Written on a sunny afternoon, this is the song that Liam wished Noel had written and Noel wishes Liam would sing. I got into playing music in my early teens (mid-90s) and I was heavy

Laura meets Veronika Wen

One of the very cool things that social media can do, if well used, is to make you discover musicians from every part of the world. I'm very happy to welcome on my blog artists coming from all the five continents (yeah, if you know some cool indie musicians from Antarctica let me know lol). Earlier in 2021, Instagram made me meet an awesome pianist from Indonesia, Veronika Wen . She is extremely talented with piano, and suddenly impressed me with her sweet voice and kind personality. She is always super supportive to the indie musicians I feature on my profile and I think she really got the spirit of the Laura Meets Musicians project - a place where it's not just me supporting musicians but also musicians supporting to each other. That's why I'm honoured to introduce her to you all, because she definitely deserves a shoutout!  Veronika Wen isn't just a pianist but also a singer, composer, songwriter and piano teacher. I highly recommend to check her YouTube out, h
