Music & healing from a toxic relationship: a conversation with Frances Hope

Image
I recently met the canadian singer-songwriter Frances Hope to talk about her latest single "STAY" based on her past trauma in a toxic relationship, and in one of that magic moments that happen when two people connect sharing similar experiences, we couldn't stop talking and confronting each other about this topic. This post is dedicated to all the people that are in, or are healing from, a toxic relationship. We tend to think that only love relationships can be toxic and that the victim is always the woman - this is certainly what happens more often, but any relationship (friendship, or even workship!) can be toxic and hurt in the same way. So, even tho this conversation is written from the perspective of two women (me and Frances), I hope that it can help in some way every person who need to read that we all are vulnerable, that it is normal to feel in a certain way and that it is possible to find the strenght to be free and to heal. But before, let's meet her! Fr

This 23-year-old singer, songwriter and producer were introduced to the world of music and songwriting at the small age of 5 when she got her first guitar and piano from her grandmother. The RnB songster turned to seriously writing music during her middle school years and went on to produce music in high school. The music this artist brings into the mix is Alternative and Indie RnB, N A E wants to be able to produce music for the moments of magic in peoples’ lives. Having her music brings out feelings of something familiar while tugging on something that feels new.  After "12 Rounds" (a collaboration with Plant Dad released in end 2021) and "she don't" (released back in January 2022), N A E released her latest single "bored of me 2!" on February 25th. In this tune, her sweet voice harmonizes perfectly with the instrumental melody based on a gently play

News: Broadtree releases "Inevitable"

Image
Broadtree is a pop-country duo consisting of singer-songwriters Armand Antony & Nicole McCafferty. They have created a unique blend of stylized storytelling over a bed of catchy pop country with subject matter that often breaks the norms of the genre. The duo also openly supports several causes, speaking out about racial equality, Canadian First Nations rights, the  LGBTQ+ community, while keeping an open line of contact for anyone looking to learn or talk  about mental health and illness. In 2021, Broadtree released a lot of new awesome music. Among all, I'd like to mention the album "Feeling Bad. Feeling Better" , written in the midst of the COVID pandemic. While experiencing the loss of the industry they live and breathe, having their mental health strongly challenged, and having their relationships with others and themselves tested over the past year, the pair have found solace in songs about finding hope in the most dire of situations.
