About me

Welcome to my little free space about music!

My name is Laura and I live in the north-west of Italy. I always had a great passion for music (thanks to my mum who listened to it even when she was pregnant of me!), so it's not surprising that I'm incredibly interested in finding new music to listen to! Check out my interviews with Indie Music Center and "Song Surfing Podcast" to discover more about me!

On this blog I post my personal reviews of fresh new releases from indie musicians, new voices that struggle to be heard in the chaos of music industry and I'm sure you will find your next favourite songwriter among them! On my Instagram page you'll find very special interviews with indie musicians, news, shout outs and a lot more!

Thanks to Instagram, I had the opportunity to get in touch with many indie musicians, especially from US and then from Europe, Asia and Australia and I started to be very curious about their songwriting process and their lives as musicians. I realized that often their music is better than "famous" or "commercial" music. If a musician writes a song that has the power to make me feel an emotion, that musician deserves to be supported. We never think about all the work that musicians put in their songs, so I thought: why don't I start to showcase them in the best possible way to give them some exposure and maybe help them find more listeners, as they deserve? And that's how the Laura Meets Musicians project started!

More about my Instagram Page

In September 2020 I started to discover a community of indie musicians based in New York City thanks to Instagram. It was the first time that I could talk directly with the songwriters, sending them my thoughts about their songs, asking questions and even becoming friends! Since then I also started to draw musicians portraits on my drawing account @enchanted.marvel (I would love if you'll follow me also there!) and day by day indie musicians have become my second family. I really love that community, so I started looking for the way I could support it more.
In April 2021 I opened the Instagram account @laurameetsmusicians where musicians have a space to freely present themselves not only as musician but also as person. It suddenly had a lot of success and I continue to receive tons of requests of feature! I invite you to follow both my accounts and if you'd like to let me know what you think about what I'm doing, just shoot me a DM there or send me an e-mail, I would love to!
